Established in 2007 by its founder, Franscois Steenkamp, this year marks the 10th anniversary of Mechanical Rotating Solutions (MRS), a leading South African supplier of mechanical seals and various mechanical engineering solutions.

Since its inception MRS has showed steady growth gradually increasing its footprint in the Mechanical Seals, Rotating and Engineering Protection as well as Sealing Equipment fields to become one of the leading industry partners in its field. According to Franscois it has always been his vision to change the way in which the mining supply industry was perceived by creating an office environment that not only serves as corporate offices but also reflects professionalism and the greatest customer care in a modern setting.

 “Since starting in the Mechanical Engineering and Mining Industry over 20 years ago it was always my ambition to create a company that breaks away from the mould. After working from home between 2007 and 2009 we had the unique opportunity to move to new premises and realise our dream of how we wanted to be perceived as not only a player in the industry but also by our own staff.”

Coupled to the vision of a modern workplace is the company’s number one goal in providing unequalled customer service to their clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Boasting a workforce that grew from three employees in 2008 the company now employees thirteen employees as well as a subsidiary, Mechanical Rotating Solutions South Africa (MRSSA) established in 2014 focusing on partnered solutions with The Department of Water & Sanitation and other national government departments.

A particular highlight for the company came in 2015 when AESSEAL (PTY) Ltd. awarded MRS the Distributor of the Year Award for the second consecutive year at their annual conference held in the Drakensberg.
